DUBAI
Dubai business hub
01 / 2023
I have had the distinct honor of developing a concept proposal for the Dubai Business Hub, a project commissioned by the Dubai government. My design concept is rooted in the idea of creating an organic architectural language that not only reflects the dynamic spirit of Dubai but also pays tribute to its natural heritage – the vast, undulating desert landscape.
The proposed design employs copper metal cladding and organic masses that evoke the rich hues and fluid forms of desert dunes. This visually striking and innovative use of copper not only symbolizes the city's historic connection to trade and prosperity but also provides a distinctive aesthetic that sets the business hub apart from the surrounding urban fabric. The building's curvilinear forms and seamless transitions between spaces foster a sense of movement and connectivity, mirroring the unending flow of energy and ideas within the business hub.
Sustainability is a key aspect of the design, with the incorporation of passive cooling strategies, solar energy systems, and water-saving technologies that address the unique environmental challenges of the region. The proposal also includes vibrant, landscaped areas that offer a verdant oasis for relaxation and collaboration, further enhancing the user experience within this bustling business center. The Dubai Business Hub, with its organic design and copper metal cladding, is poised to become a landmark that reflects the city's relentless pursuit of innovation and growth while honoring its timeless connection to the desert.
